Finding Research Opportunities and Programs

UNM Programs & Fellowships

External (Non-UNM) Programs & Opportunities

Note: Below, we list a combination of paid summer and post-baccalaureate programs, and informal mentorship opportunities. Students who have not finished their undergraduate degree and want to gain more research experiences at a different institution nationwide should apply to Summer programs. Summer programs usually provide a stipend and cover room and board. Students who have completed their undergraduate degrees but wish to continue gaining research experience to make themselves more competitive before applying for graduate programs should apply for post-baccalaureate programs. These programs are usually two years long, with an expectation of working 40 hours a week while earning a salary. Informal mentorship opportunities will connect students with non-UNM experts in a field of research that can provide advice on transitioning into a career in research.
