Goals and Objectives
The Department of Psychology's program goals and learning objectives for graduate education include:
- Develop knowledge and skills of a professional research psychologist
- Formulate research hypotheses, design empirical studies to test hypotheses, and carry out data collection
- Develop knowledge and skills for teaching at a college or university
- Prepare and present material for course lecture and discussion
- Develop knowledge and skills required to engage in practice or research in a specific area within psychology
- Describe and explain major theoretical positions and empirical findings in subfields of psychology
