Dr. Cassandra Boness, CASAA, will present The Systematic Review of Reviews Methodology & Application

Abstract:

Systematic reviews of reviews are useful for integrating and synthesizing the literature on a topic for which a wealth of research, and specifically research syntheses, exists. This talk will cover the why and how of the systematic review of reviews methodology, including the steps involved in conducting a systematic review of reviews as well as the tasks and challenges that arise at each step. The talk will conclude with an example systematic review of reviews.

Biography:

Cassandra Boness, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist and Research Assistant Professor at CASAA. Dr. Boness specializes in addiction science. Her mixed-methods research, guided by the primary goal of reducing harm and suffering in the lives of people with substance use disorders, focuses on the etiology, assessment, and treatment of alcohol use disorder. Dr. Boness is particularly interested in developing and refining assessment tools to capture the processes that cause and maintain substance use disorders and using these tools to test precision medicine hypotheses.
