Clinic Director Non-tenure stream Faculty Position
The Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a full time non-tenure stream faculty position at the rank of Lecturer III to begin January 2025 (options may exist to begin early).
The department seeks to hire a generalist in clinical or counseling psychology to serve as the Clinic Director of the UNM Psychology Clinic. The Psychology Clinic provides mental health services to the community and professional level training for students in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program.
The Clinic Director is responsible for the overall administration of the clinic services and programs, the management of day-to-day operations, and overseeing students’ educational goals, client care, and the financial sustainability of the Psychology Clinic.
In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach clinical elective courses to our Clinical Psychology doctoral students. Workload is determined by the department Chair and University policies.
Duties include
- Coordinate all requests for services through the Clinic
- Provide clinical supervision and training to students in the clinical psychology doctoral program
- Develop and oversee external practicum opportunities for students
- Train graduate students in using Time2Track for internship
- Coordinate contracts with community partners for clinical services, including negotiation of grants and government contracts for behavioral health
- Regularly attend the Association of Psychology Training Clinic (APTC) annual conference
- Demonstrate a high standard of professional conduct and adherence to ethical and legal standards in the operation of the Clinic
- Determine policies and procedures for clinic operations, monitor the budget, establish client fee schedules, and lead fundraising efforts related to Clinic
- Supervise the Administrative Assistant and clinic graduate assistants
- Participate in clinical staff hiring and conduct performance reviews of clinic staff
- Contribute to the educational mission of the Psychology Department
- Attend Psychology clinical faculty meetings, attend case conference presentations, and work closely with Psychology clinical faculty
- Report to the Director of Clinical Training
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctorate in APA- and/or PCSAS-accredited Clinical or Counseling Psychology program
- Completion of an APA-approved pre-doctoral clinical internship
- At least two years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Eligible for or currently possess New Mexico state licensure in psychology
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to empirically supported treatments
- Evidence of ability to treat common psychological disorders (e.g., anxiety, mood)
- Working knowledge of the psychological clinical science training model
- Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision in psychotherapy and/or assessment
- Demonstrated experience obtaining grants and/or contracts for behavioral health
- Evidence of developing external practicum placements for students
- Demonstrated marketing skills for psychological services
- Demonstrated skills in managing budgets
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, such as Latino/a, American Indian/Alaskan Native, and low-income populations; Spanish language fluency would be a strength
- Demonstrated experience in teaching
