Title: Sociocultural Factors in Assessing American Indians and Alaska Natives: Research and Clinical Implications.
Abstract: Cognitive assessment is often used to assist in the research, diagnosis and treatment planning of various cognitive-related health and mental health illnesses. To what extent do various sociocultural factors impact assessments in diverse and underrepresented populations? You are invited to join Dr. Verney as he shares his research exploring issues in culture and assessment in Indigenous populations who experience disproportionate physical and mental health conditions.
